Comanche ISD Superintendent Rick Howard has been nominated for the annual Superintendent of the Year award for Texas. Mr. Howard was nominated by the local school board earlier this year and the Region 14 Educational Service Center selected him to represent the region. Mr. Howard along with 16 other superintendents around the state will be interviewed August 24-25 in Austin and a winner will be announced September 29th at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Convention in Dallas. The award recognizes exemplary school chiefs for excellence and achievement in educational leadership.
Mr. Howard stated, "To be considered for such an honor, a lot of students had to be students of the year, a lot of teachers had to be teachers of the year, a lot of administrators had to be administrators of the year and you trustees had to be trustees of the year! Whatever recognition I get for any success is due to the collaborative efforts of a lot of folks, and for that, our students are the ultimate benefactors! Thanks to each of you for allowing me to be a part of the team!"
