This page is designed to provide information for high school students who are interested in attending college. This page is designed to provide testing dates, helpful tips (school code), and general Internet information. Comanche High School's counselor, Mrs. Della Hicks, welcomes phone calls or appointments to further discuss college information.
Mrs. Hicks will be mailing out the list of local scholarships during the end of April. Also, students can access a copy of those from this location. However, they will have to copy and paste or print out the information from here. Also, in order to see the files, you will have to download Acrobat Reader 8.0 (this is a free download).

Most colleges have produced college web pages that are filled with information about tuition, admission, campus size, housing, activities or any other useful facts that would be beneficial to high school students. Anyone can find a specific college's web site by going to a search engine (such as Google) and typing the college's name in the search box. The Texas Common Application Form is the admissions form used by all state-supported four-years colleges. Other admission requirements will be designated by individual colleges. Information about the Texas Common Application Form and the form itself can be viewed at www.applytexas.org.
Financial aid information and forms can be obtained also by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Financial aid forms can be filled out in January of the student's senior year (after the parent's have figured their income tax for the previous year).
Scholarship information will be mailed out regularly by Mrs. Hicks; however, there has also been a web site created for scholarships available in Texas (E-Scholarships). If you will log on to http://collegeguidanceconsultants.com/texas, you can view E-Scholarships Monthly newsletters at your convenience. This web site is loaded with scholarship lists.
Another resourceful site for college information is from Parade Magazine..."The Best Way to Save for College". It was their October 16th issue. Here is a link to that issue http://archive.parade.com/2005/1016/1016_college.html
