Comanche ISD Selects Daron Worrell as New Superintendent
Daron Worrell was recently named the new Comanche ISD Superintendent by the Board of Trustees. Worrell officially began working on July 1. He replaces Gary Speegle, who is retiring from CISD after several years of service.

DaronWorrell graduated high school from Lovington, New Mexico and attended college at  Southerwestern Oklahoma State University.  He began his career as a special education teacher at Copperas Cove ISD.

“When I began my career as principal at Brackettville, that campus had previously been labeled by TEA as ‘improvement required (IR)” Worrell said. “ I was happy to lead a team that successfully implemented programs to move that campus forward and out of ‘IR’ status.”

Worrell’s wife, Carla, will be a pre-kindergarten teacher at Comanche Elementary. The Worrells also have three children- Ava (sophomore), Brody (7th grade), and Eli (5th grade).

“Family is very important to me,” Worrell said. “Comanche is a wonderful place to raise your children and we are very much looking forward to becoming active in the school and community.”

Worrell believes that a strong academic and extracurricular foundation are important to student success in school."One of my main goals is to improve the academic and extracurricular programs we currently have, but also add to and supplement them as well.”
