ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES (All Grade Levels)
Possession and Use of Personal Telecommunications Devices, Including Mobile Telephones (Cell Phones)
For safety purposes, the district permits students to possess personal mobile telephones (Cell phones); however, these devices must remain turned off during the instructional day, including during all testing. Additionally, rules for each campus must be followed. A student must have approval to possess other telecommunications devices such as netbooks, laptops, tablets, or other portable computers.
*The use of mobile telephones or any device capable of capturing images is strictly prohibited in locker rooms or restroom areas while at school or at a school-related or school-sponsored event.
Comanche High School
*Students will be allowed to use personal devices ie. cell phones inside the building during breakfast, during lunch, before 7:45 am, and after 3:45 pm if it is outside of any instructional setting. Student will also be allowed to use their cell phones for academic purpose only inside classrooms when deemed appropriate and with the permission of the classroom teacher. All other times cell phones must be turned off and out of site.
*If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day or is caught with a cell phone in restricted areas, the following will occur:
1st offense- The device will be confiscated and kept in the principal’s office for the remainder of the day.
2nd offense- The device will be confiscated and will need to be picked up at the end of the day by (student/parent) for a fee of $15 or will be kept in a secure location for 15 days. (Parent will be notified)
3rd offense- The device will be confiscated and will be picked up at the end of the day by the student’s parent for a fee of $15 or will be kept in a secure location for 15 days.
HR Jeffries Junior High School
Students will be allowed to use personal devices ie. cell phones inside the building after 3:45 pm if it is outside of any instructional setting. Student will also be allowed to use their cell phones for academic purpose only inside classrooms when deemed appropriate and with the permission of the classroom teacher. All other times cell phones must be turned off and out of site.
*If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day or is caught with a cell phone in restricted areas, the following will occur:

If problems arise, the cell phone policy may be modified for a short period of time for the safety of students and staff at the principal’s discretion.
Excessive offenses could warrant additional discipline by principal. Additionally, devices may be confiscated upon the first offense for the following actions:
- Used for cheating
- Containing inappropriate, vulgar or pornographic pictures or messages
- Used to send threatening messages in limited circumstances and in accordance with law, a student’s personal telecommunications device may be searched by authorized personnel. [See Searches on page and policy FNF.]
Any disciplinary action will be in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. The district is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen telecommunications devices.
